The jungle of Rudyard Kipling's India, with all its visual and sensual delights, is the setting for this world-premiere production that opens State Street Ballet's 2009-10 Season. Set to an original score by Milan Svoboda of the Czech Republic, with costumes by Christina Gianini and sets by Jean-Francois Revon, this exciting new work will spark the spirit of adventure in audiences of all ages.

The classic tale of adventure, fantasy, romance , and the triumph of good over evil. For more than 175 years, E.T.A. Hoffman's story of Clara and her Nutcracker prince has delighted children of all ages. Set to music by Tchaikovsky and performed in the opulent setting of The Granada, the Nutcracker's story enchants as never before.

This east-meets-west collaboration promises to be playful, humorous, and wonderfully theatrical. Detroit's Eisenhower Dance Ensemble and Santa Barbara's State Street Ballet combine flair and classical sizzle in a razzle-dazzle evening of dance and music, set to the rhythms of that infamous Motown sound.
